Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is SCIÉNTIO laboratories, spol. s r.o., Tallerova 4, 811 02 Bratislava, Slovak Republic, IČO 52 053 407. Write to support@travelshield.app for anything about your data.
What we use, and why
- Your email address, to create your account, send sign-in codes and keep your briefings and credits together (contract).
- Passkey data (a public key, never your face or fingerprint), if you choose Face ID, fingerprint or screen-lock sign-in (contract).
- Your trip answers (destination, dates, who travels with you, where you stay, plans, whether you meet people, first visit, language), only to prepare your briefing (contract).
- Your position, only when you ask for a “Where I am now” check, and only for that check (contract). We never track you in the background.
- Credits and payments: your balance, what used credits, and the record of each purchase. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see them (contract, accounting law).
- Technical data needed to run and protect the service, such as a sign-in cookie and short-lived logs (legitimate interest in security).
We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles about you.
Who helps us
We use carefully chosen service providers, bound by data-processing agreements: our hosting and database provider (Cloudflare; your account database is kept in the EU), an AI processing provider that prepares assessments from your trip answers, our payment provider (Stripe), and map and place-search services based on OpenStreetMap data. Some providers process data outside the EU, for example in the United States; such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your account, briefings and checks: until you delete your account.
- Sign-in codes: 10 minutes. Sign-in sessions: up to 180 days, or until you sign out.
- Payment and accounting records: as long as accounting law requires (in Slovakia up to 10 years), without your email after account deletion.
Cookies
We use one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser’s storage for small conveniences such as your unfinished trip answers. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can access, correct, delete and take a copy of your data, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and restrict processing. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time in “Your account”, or write to us. You can also complain to the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov SR, dataprotection.gov.sk).
